Graduate Engineer from ENST (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des télécommunications, Paris - 1977), Alain Carof has 30 years of experience in complex system design, Technical management & Strategic R&D planning.
He has been working during 28 years for the THALES group of companies, mainly in the Naval domain, covering Radar signal processing, Sonar & underwater systems, UUV’s, submarine and surface ship combat systems. Between 1998 and 2001 he went in Australia, as Technical Director of TMS Pty (now Thales Underwater Systems).
He has produced several patents and numerous papers in various conferences (OCEANS, UDT, MAST) has been French industry representative for Euclid (WEAG)
In 2008 he joined the DCNS group, as Technical & Technology Director of the Surveillance & Information Systems Direction (DSIS), in charge of Multi-platform Combat Management Systems, Command & Information Systems & Maritime Surveillance.
