MAST 2010 Call for Papers CLOSING
With just one day left in the MAST 2010 Call for Papers, authors hoping for a slot at the November event in Rome should upload their abstract.
Once again the call is likely to be oversubscribed, and with stringent selection criteria in place, only the very best presentations will feature at the sixth MAST Conference.
MAST Americas featured paper: Future Submarine Technology
Author: Dipl Ing Andreas Grunicke, TKMS/Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft, Germany
Today and in the future, the submarine is more and more tasked to perform a wide range of missions, ranging from counter-terrorism at sea, ASW, ASuW to supporting operations ashore.
These missions will most likely be in the very difficult maritime environment of the littorals, but combined with extended transits to the scenes of today’s expeditionary warfare.
By integration of state of the art technology the submarine will meet these new operational demands.
On the basis of the submarine design experience of Germany and the customers feed back, TKMS today is the solution provider for non nuclear submarines.
This paper will handle the main aspects and recent developments in submarine platform technology, and will explain concepts and solutions for future submarine tasks.
